Tuesday: Time out for rain in Sausalito

Just in case you thought California was all sun, sun, sun...I awoke on Tuesday morning to pouring rain and swirling fog over the hills of the Marin Headlands.


I didn't sleep well - it may have had something to do with a raccoon climbing in through the open first floor window of my bedroom - and the rain wasn't conducive to sightseeing, so I spent another day in Sausalito library working. I've learnt not to expect either cellphone coverage or internet access in this part of California (at least not in the remote places I choose to stay), so I am taking the opportunity to get some serious work done before I head back down the PCH to Big Sur.
